Book NowMinister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Honorable Tino Machakaire, says preparations are advancing in line with agreed timelines, with contractors on the ground and key deliverables moving toward completion as scheduled. The hosting of the commemorations is being positioned not only as a national youth celebration, but as a catalyst for lasting development investments in the province.
Central to this year’s preparations is the rollout of youth skills infrastructure, including a new vocational training centre and the Igavha Youth Training Centre, both designed to expand access to practical training, technical skills and enterprise development opportunities for young people. The facilities are expected to strengthen the province’s youth empowerment ecosystem and create long-term platforms for capacity building beyond the commemorations.
Honorable Machakaire emphasized that the 21st Movement is evolving into more than a symbolic date on the calendar, but a structured youth development platform aligned with national growth priorities.
“This is an important day where youths are educated on national development and their role within it. Young people are key players who must be actively engaged and empowered to participate in building the country,” said Honorable Machakaire.
He noted that linking national youth events with tangible infrastructure and training centres reflects Government’s broader empowerment strategy, shifting from event-based mobilisation toward permanent skills institutions that anchor opportunity at community level.
Officials say the development footprint already visible in and around Marondera demonstrates how national programmes can translate into local progress, with youth training facilities, construction activity and community upgrades forming part of the hosting legacy.
With coordination teams finalising logistics and programme elements, the 21st Movement celebrations are expected to draw wide youth participation while reinforcing Government’s commitment to structured empowerment, skills development and inclusive national progress under Vision 2030.
