Book NowThe ZANU PF Commissariat Department has ordered an immediate suspension of the distribution of the Presidential Economic Empowerment Revolving Fund, pending the release of updated guidelines for its administration.
In a circular dated January 23, 2026, provincial chairpersons across the country were instructed to comply with the party directive until further notice. The notice indicates that the Secretary General, Cde Advocate J.F.N. Mudenda, will soon issue revised regulations detailing how the fund is to be distributed, managed, and utilized going forward.
The circular, signed by National Political Commissar M. Machacha and stamped at ZANU PF Headquarters, underscores the significance of the fund within the party’s broader empowerment agenda. Copies were also sent to the Secretary General and Treasurer General, P.A. Chinamasa, reflecting the directive’s importance at the highest levels of party leadership.
The Presidential Economic Empowerment Revolving Fund has long served as a key mechanism to support grassroots economic initiatives and empower communities. The circular, however, does not provide reasons for the suspension, nor a timeline for when disbursements will resume.
Observers suggest the move could signal tighter oversight of the fund’s management and a recalibration of its distribution framework, aimed at ensuring transparency and alignment with current economic priorities. Further clarity is expected once the new guidelines are officially released.
