Ruwa Town Secretary, Stakeholders Hold Tree Planting Day at Chiremba Grounds

Story by Godfrey M. Bonda

Ruwa – The Ruwa Town Secretary, together with various stakeholders, yesterday took part in a tree planting exercise at Chiremba Grounds, despite wet weather conditions that restricted sporting activities on the pitch.

One of the stakeholders commended participants for braving the rains, noting that although games could not proceed as planned, the tree planting programme was successfully carried out.

A total of seven fruit trees were planted on the orchard side, alongside 49 Kenyan Croton trees and one Jacaranda tree on the shade side.

Stakeholders acknowledged the presence of the Ruwa Town Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Kumbirai Madanhi, who performed the honours of planting the first tree. He was followed by MPS Founder and CEO, Mr Machekanyanga.

Also present were Ruwa Volleyball Chairman Mr Zarima, PotMo Gaza Chairman and Gifts Academy Treasurer, popularly known as “Uncle Bogus”, PotMo Gaza Vice Chairman Mr Makuwe, FBM representative Mr Mugadza, and members of the Ruwa Referees Association.

Special appreciation was extended to Mr Fisher Muzengi of Ruwa Edutainment Hub for capturing quality photographs of the event.

All stakeholders thanked the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Ruwa for granting permission to gather and conduct the activity at Chiremba Grounds.

“Our journey has just begun. More trees, more planting. Together we can make a difference,” stakeholders said.
