Preparations for the official opening of the 2026 legal year are at an advanced stage

This significant event in Zimbabwe’s judicial calendar will also see Deputy Chief Justice Elizabeth Gwaunza leading proceedings in Bulawayo, while Constitutional Court judges will officiate in other key cities: Justice Garwe in Masvingo, Justice Gowora in Mutare, and Justice Patel in Chinhoyi.

The Judicial Service Commission has emphasized the importance of stakeholder collaboration in the administration of justice, aligning with the government’s devolution agenda. The event will feature keynote addresses and updates on the judiciary’s performance in 2025.

The decentralization of the ceremony to Bulawayo highlights the government’s commitment to spreading national events across the country. Key attendees are expected, including government officials, judiciary members, and representatives from the legal profession.

The ceremony promises to provide valuable insights into the judiciary’s priorities and challenges, and will be closely watched by stakeholders and observers alike.
