Chivhayo Pays Tribute to Late Mother with Heartfelt Memorial

In a poignant celebration of life, businessman and entrepreneur, Chivhayo, yesterday marked the fifth anniversary of his mother’s passing with a series of heartfelt tributes and charitable gestures.

Canisia Chivhayo, who passed away in 2021, was remembered by her son as a pillar of strength, faith, and unconditional love. In a touching eulogy, Chivhayo recounted the sacrifices his mother made for her family, including crossing the border into South Africa to sell goods and provide for her children after the tragic loss of her husband in 1990.

Chivhayo’s tribute highlighted his mother’s unwavering faith, discipline, and dedication to her family, which had shaped him into the person he is today. He recalled her soft-spoken words, contagious smile, and the hope she instilled in him and his siblings.

As a gesture of appreciation for the role the Church played in supporting his family during their time of grief, Chivhayo donated a brand-new 2026 Toyota Hilux double cab valued at US$75,000 and US$250,000 in cash to St Gerard’s Cathedral Church, where his mother was a devoted parishioner.

The donation, accepted by the Church’s Head Priest, Father Bushu, is earmarked for the implementation of projects aimed at making the Church self-sustainable and supporting its ecumenical programs, charity work, and spreading the Gospel.

Chivhayo’s tribute to his mother serves as a testament to the enduring power of a mother’s love and the impact one life can have on others. As he reflected on his mother’s legacy, he expressed hope that they would one day reunite in the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.
