President Emmerson Mnangagwa has praised unity within ZANU PF and across the nation, describing it as the foundation of Zimbabwe’s resilience and recent socioeconomic gains. He made the remarks while addressing the 389th Politburo meeting, the party’s final high-level meeting for 2025.
The President paid tribute to the late Archbishop Paul Mwazha of the African Apostolic Church, who was recently declared a National Hero, acknowledging his role in shaping moral values and social cohesion in the country. He said national unity remains critical in sustaining development and stability.
President Mnangagwa noted the successful completion of the National Development Strategy One and the subsequent launch of National Development Strategy Two, describing both as people-driven programmes anchored on inclusive economic growth. He also commended the 22nd National People’s Conference for strengthening party unity and influencing the formulation of the 2026 National Budget.
The President urged ZANU PF to align its mobilisation, communication, and policy messaging with the priorities of NDS2, with particular focus on economic growth, industrial productivity, and improved livelihoods for citizens. He challenged the party to modernise by embracing Information Communication Technologies and Artificial Intelligence while preserving its liberation values and discipline.
He reported positive economic performance driven largely by agriculture, mining, and manufacturing, adding that regional engagements continue to enhance cooperation, trade, and integration. President Mnangagwa also warned against forces seeking to destabilise national progress, urging constant vigilance to safeguard peace, unity, and development.
