Warriors AFCON 2025 provisional squad announced

The Zimbabwe Senior Men’s National Team, also known as the Warriors, has announced a 55-member provisional squad for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 in Morocco. The team, led by new coach Marian “Mario” Marinica, aims to qualify for the group stage for the first time. Initially, a 51-member squad had been announced, but later four additions were roped in. The tournament runs from December 21 to January 18, 2026.

  • Goalkeepers: Washington Arubi, Martin Mapisa
  • Defenders: Elvis Chipezeze, Godknows Murwira, Teenage Lingani Hadebe
  • Midfielders: Marvelous Nakamba, Marshall Nyasha Munetsi
  • Forwards: Macauley Bonne, Walter Tatenda Musona, Knowledge Musona

The squad will be trimmed to 28 players for the tournament, with the Confederation of African Football covering expenses for 23 players. The Warriors will face Egypt, Angola, and South Africa in the group stage, with their campaign starting on December 22 against North Africa giants, Egypt.
