Government and Private Sector Forge Stronger Ties to Drive Zimbabwe’s Economic Recovery

Honourable Mangaliso Ndlovu, Minister of Industry and Commerce, has underscored the critical role of the private sector in advancing Zimbabwe’s economic recovery, applauding businesses for responding positively to government calls for increased production. Speaking during a high-level engagement with industry stakeholders, the Minister highlighted that while manufacturing growth is evident, challenges persist within the informal sector, a segment that remains vital for employment and local economic activity. He emphasized that these challenges must be addressed strategically to ensure the economy can move forward on a sustainable path.

The Minister’s remarks came alongside assurances that government is committed to creating a conducive business environment. In the construction industry, he noted the importance of duty-free structures for equipment and signaled that relevant ministries are actively working to resolve operational bottlenecks.
