Breaking News; The Roman Catholic Church elects Pope Francis’ successor

Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost was elected as the 267th Successor of Peter by the 133 Cardinal electors on Thursday, May 8 .

“I announce to you a great joy;we have a Pope: The Most Eminent and Most Reverend Lord, Lord Robert Francis Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church Prevost who has taken the name Leo XIV”, Cardinal Protodeacon Dominique Mamberti announced.

Pope Leo XIV succeeds Pope Francis who died on Easter Monday, 21 April 2025 following a stroke and heart failure.
