HARARE – CAPS United has relieved head coach Lloyd Chitembwe of his coaching duties, with club president Farai Jere confirming the decision as part of sweeping changes to the team’s technical setup.

Chitembwe, a long-serving figure at the club, has been promoted to the role of technical director, while the rest of the coaching team has been dismissed. The decision follows a string of unsatisfactory results that have placed the team under pressure.
“Following the results which are coming, the club has decided to part ways with the current technical setup and pave the way for a new team,” said Jere. “Starting this weekend, we will have a new technical setup to lead us.”
Jere revealed that the full technical team will be unveiled on Thursday, and it will include former player Ian Bakala as assistant coach. He emphasized that the new head coach will be someone with strong ties to the club, in line with CAPS United’s tradition of appointing former players.
“The new coach is a CAPS United son, as you know this is our culture to have our former players coming back,” Jere added.
The changes come as CAPS United looks to rejuvenate its performance in the league and restore its competitive edge.
