Poet Mtatabikwa set to release a Gupuriro Project

Ronald T Mtatabikwa, a poet who stays in Harare is set to release a Gupuriro project.

Mtatabikwa did his first part of primary school at MF Suopani Primary School, before moving to Hartley No. 1 Primary. School in Chegutu.

He went to Cheziya High School in Gokwe for his Secondary education (form 1-4). He did his A’ level at Marlborough High School.

I proceeded to MSU school of Social Work where l pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work” , he added.

Poet Mtatabikwa added that he started writing and performing poetry in Primary school and he got better as he grew up

“I remember that l would recite poetry during school events such Prize Giving days and other events. I would take part in competitions as well”, he shared.

Mtatabikwa said, ” I started performing at what l would call professionally, in 2018″.

My career grew to an extent that l found myself performing on various stages local, regional and international.

“I got my inspiration from my day-to-day life experiences. Everything l see around me and l write about it”, he said. Ronald T Mtatabikwa is a Spoken Word artist and Storyteller based in Zimbabwe. He has performed on various local, regional and international platforms. Some of the notable stages he has performed on include The African Theatre Guild Festival screened in Canada (2020), A High- Level Meeting on Peace in Southern Africa (2021) and International Peace Summit hosted by International Group for Peace (2021).

His work has also been screened and played on various local television channels and radio stations that include ZBC TV, 3KTV, ZTN, Star FM, Power FM, Classic 263 FM and Capitalk FM; and has won a Kanyanisa Monthly poetry slam (2018).

This year l am working on releasing quite a number of projects like Gupuriro. I have shared the stage with the legendary Albert Nyathi.
