Simbisa Appoints Mudzengi as Group Finance Director

Quick-service restaurant group Simbisa Brands Limited has appointed renowned chartered accountant David Takudzwa Mudzengi as Group Finance Director, effective February 1, 2025.

Mudzengi succeeds Baldwin Guchu, who stepped down from the position effective January 1, 2025.

The company announced the change in a notice to shareholders.

“The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. David Takudzwa Mudzengi (CA(Z)) as the Group Finance Director of Simbisa Brands Limited, effective February 1, 2025.”

“David is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in financial reporting, corporate finance, management accounting, and enterprise risk management,” the notice read.

Mudzengi brings vast experience across various industries, including mobile money, accounting firms, insurance, health, and asset management, among others.

The company aims to leverage his extensive experience and proven leadership.

The company has also appointed Ms. Fadeke Hatineti Obatolu as the substantive Company Secretary, effective January 2, 2025. Ms. Obatolu had been serving as the Acting Company Secretary since October 1, 2024.

The appointment reflects the company’s confidence in Ms. Obatolu’s experience.
