Walter Musona crowned 2024 soccer star of the year

Walter Musona was crowned the 2024 Castle lager Premier Soccer League soccer star of the year at a glittering ceremony in Harare yesterday.

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Simba Bhora Captain, Musona made history by winning the crown with two different clubs. In 2022 he won the crown as an FC Platinum player.

Highlanders’ Lynoth Chikuhwa was the first runner up while decorated player, Khama Billiat of Yadah FC settled for the second runner up position.

It was a tight call but the striker won the hearts of the panelists after guiding Simba Bhora to their maiden title.

The Golden Boot winner was Lynoth Chikuhwa who ended the season with seventeen goals. The 20 goal mark continue to elude the golden boot winners. For as many seasons the marka has proven to a tough nut to crack.

The last striker to breach the mark was former Dynamos Striker the late Norman Maroto in 2010 when he bagged 22 goals while playing for Gunners Football Club. Since then no other striker has surpassed that feat.

The goalkeeper of the year prize went to Chicken Inn’s Donovan Bernard while Simba Bhora coach, Tonderai Ndiraya was crowned the Coach of the year.
