Addressing the ZANU PF 21st Annual People’s Conference in Bulawayo, President Mnangagwa emphasized the need for the Party’s systems to be fortified against infiltration by divisive elements who threaten the political order upheld by the supreme Party Constitution. “ZANU PF musangano unoyera. MuZANU PF tine tsika yekukudzana nekuremekedzana. ZANU PF hayikwani muhomwe yemunhu,” he said, underscoring the sacredness of the Party. He urged delegates to reflect on Article 2, Sections 8 and 9 of the amended Constitution and to reaffirm their commitment to its principles.
President Mnangagwa outlined that these sections bind all members to respect, uphold, and fulfill the Constitution’s requirements at every level. He further warned that threats posed by indiscipline and political opportunism must be directly addressed. Members of ZANU PF are expected to follow the revolutionary line with loyalty and ideological clarity, as mandated by Article 3, Section 19. Sub-section (1) demands loyalty to the Party and its leadership, while Sub-section (6) requires members to conduct themselves honorably, safeguarding the Party’s reputation.
He reminded delegates that no one will be permitted to undermine the Party’s people-centred ethos, stressing that every cadre, from the grassroots to the national level, has a duty to uphold the Party’s strategic vision. Leaders within the Party structures were encouraged to provide strong, loyal leadership.
President Mnangagwa called on all dedicated members to maintain unity in thought, practice, and action. He highlighted the importance of unity for achieving national prosperity, warning that no community can develop amid division. “Unity, unity, unity, peace and harmony are essential cogs to amplify the growth and prosperity that our country seeks and deserves,” he concluded.
