President Mnangagwa Vows to Shield Citizens from Economic Saboteurs

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to safeguarding Zimbabwean citizens against economic sabotage during his address at the 378th Ordinary Session of the Zanu PF Politburo. Speaking at the party’s headquarters in Harare, the President underscored Zimbabwe’s remarkable economic progress despite facing multiple challenges such as illegal sanctions, climate change, and global economic disruptions.

The President lauded the resilience and unity of Zimbabweans, emphasizing the government’s focus on fostering sustainable economic growth and development. He reiterated that protecting citizens from the negative actions of those engaging in speculative behavior and profiteering remains a top priority. The President made it clear that the government will not tolerate activities that harm the nation’s progress.

Highlighting Zimbabwe’s achievements across various sectors, Mnangagwa noted that the country is on the path to growth, even in the face of adversity. He stressed that this progress serves as a testament to the potential for continued development. In light of this, the President urged the nation to stay focused on the shared national development agenda, emphasizing that sustainable economic growth requires collective responsibility.

As the leader of the ruling party, President Mnangagwa reminded Zanu PF members of their constitutional responsibility to uphold party principles and defend the interests of the Zimbabwean people. He condemned divisive actions and warned against those spreading misinformation and attempting to undermine the party’s revolutionary agenda. The President stressed the need for unity and resilience, calling for action against elements that threaten the country’s sovereignty, stability, and security.

In addition to his strong stance against economic sabotage, Mnangagwa renewed the call for the removal of illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe and other progressive nations. This, he said, would create a more favorable environment for economic growth and development.

The Politburo session also addressed preparations for the upcoming party conference, with updates provided on the restructuring of Party cells and villages, signaling ongoing efforts to strengthen party organization.

President Mnangagwa’s address reflects the government’s determination to protect the interests of the Zimbabwean people, promote national unity, and build a prosperous future despite the challenges ahead.
