In the past 50 years, Israel has built illegal settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, where more than 700,000 Jews now live with its extremist and fascist government proposing to completely annex the Westbank.

“These heinous crimes against activists and journalists is a systematic Israeli attempt to silence the voice of truth and to cover up the crimes of its occupation against our people in order to isolate our Palestinian people from the rest of the world” explained Ambassador Dr Tarmer Almassri.

“The Israeli policy of shoot to kill under the instructions of the military commanders and high level political leaders has turned its soldiers into mere machines to kill Palestinians. This policy should be condemned and the perpetrators of these crimes should be brought to justice” added Ambassador Dr Almassri.

“The state of Palestine holds the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for this heinous crime, which serves as evidence of Israel’s predetermined plans, designed to escalate the already volatile regional situation further and create a smokescreen to hide Israel’s supremacist Jewish settler-colonialism in the occupied Palestinian territories and extension of its failed genocidal war” said Palestine Ambassador

Before the killing of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, American activist Rachel Corrie and American Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Akleh were also assassinated by Israeli occupation forces and the American government continue to pay lip service and double standards when it comes to protecting American citizens in Palestine that are killed at the hands of Israeli occupation soldiers.

The international community silence towards the crimes committed against the Palestinian people by apartheid Israeli occupation encourages Israel to continue its violence against, activists journalists, and the Palestine people in general.

Ambassador Tamer Almassri calls on the International Criminal Court along with international human rights and humanitarian organizations to take immediate action to provide protection to the Palestinian people and assume their legal and moral responsibilities towards the crimes inflicted on Palestinians in a manner that would be conducive to holding Israeli war criminals accountable for their atrocities.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation committed three massacres against families in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, resulting in the killing of 33 civilians and the injury of 145 others. The number of people killed since the start of the Israeli genocide on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, has risen to 40 972. Thousands of victims remain missing; either buried under the rubble or scattered on the roads, as rescue teams face tremendous difficulties in reaching them due to the continued Israeli attacks and the massive amount of debris.

Ambassador Almassri stresses that the only way to achieve peace and security is through ending the israeli apartheid occupation, recognizing international legitimacy and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital.
