Zimbabwe Bolsters Cybersecurity Efforts Through Collaborative Training with Huawei

Zimbabwe’s efforts to enhance its cybersecurity capabilities were highlighted during the recent award ceremony for government officials who completed a critical Cybersecurity Training Program. The initiative, a collaboration between the Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services and Huawei Technologies, represents a significant step toward securing the nation’s digital infrastructure.

Speaking at the event, Dr. G.K. Machengete, Director General of POTRAZ, emphasized the importance of partnerships in addressing the growing challenges of cybersecurity. As the world sees an unprecedented increase in data usage, safeguarding digital infrastructure has become a priority. The collaboration with Huawei, a global leader in ICT solutions, has provided Zimbabwean officials with essential tools and knowledge to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.

Dr. Machengete commended the leadership of the Ministry of ICT for initiating the program and acknowledged Huawei’s role in delivering expert training. He urged the participants to apply their new skills proactively and contribute to building a resilient cybersecurity culture within their respective offices.

This training marks a critical step in Zimbabwe’s ongoing efforts to fortify its digital defenses, ensuring the security of national data in an increasingly interconnected world.
