Grappling with the Sad Losses of Our Veteran Generation

It is with deep sorrow that the nation is experiencing the generational loss of our forefathers and foremothers—those heroes and heroines who shaped our history. Many of them are now reaching the twilight of their lives, and as they age, it is crucial for the younger generation to learn from the wisdom they possess.

Some may argue that history is irrelevant, but one cannot build a house without a solid foundation. Understanding one’s roots is vital, just like knowing the roots of a tree that anchors it firmly to the ground. Our history is the foundation upon which we must build our future.

There are whispers in the corridors about war veterans clashing with one another for positions or feeling threatened. However, it is time for the people to realize the importance of preserving the knowledge of our forebears. We must cherish their teachings and remember them wholeheartedly, for they are irreplaceable.

If someone truly cares about you, they will encourage you to listen to your elders. Those who discourage this do not have your best interests at heart. They seek to leave you without a foundation, without guidance. But there is no substitute for our ancestors, our heroes, and heroines.

Let us be mindful of the passing of these great figures without having learned from their vast reservoirs of knowledge. It is a loss that cannot be replaced, and we must act now to ensure their wisdom is passed down to future generations.
