Sikhala, Ngarivhume’s Futile Search for Martyrdom

Job Sikhala

Unpopular but noisy politicians, Job Sikhala and Jacob Ngarivhume, who head briefcase political entities, National Democratic Working Group (NDWG) and Transform Zimbabwe (TZ), recently posted on X Space, announcing the signing of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to politically cooperate. They declared that they would lead protests from the front, including planned demonstrations before, during, and after the SADC Summit, even if it meant they would be arrested again.

These two political activists, who present themselves as politicians, have found the going tough politically after being rejected by their targeted constituencies on the back of false militancy. Sikhala thought his ‘Mandela moment’ and the fake support he received during his incarceration for inciting public violence would catapult him to the CCC presidency. However, he was given a rude awakening as they rejected him and even tried to beat him up at Moreblessing Ali’s burial. He is now currently wallowing in political Siberia.

On the other hand, Ngarivhume thought he could ride on his stint in incarceration, especially given the support he was receiving from opposition quarters. He was abandoned straight after his release – both were used for political expediency by the real players in the opposition and rightly discarded. These two political rejects think they can reignite their political flame that died before it even lit by provoking the State to act on their illegal declarations in the hope of inviting their arrest and, in the process, invite political sympathy and relevance to the opposition constituency and western donors.

Sikhala and Ngarivhume must realize that their newfound union is nothing but a Madhuku Strategy, where they are both the leaders and followership of their briefcase political entities, whose sole purpose is to milk gullible western donors. These two have been roundly rejected by the very same opposition members they seek to please – it is a no-brainer!

Be that as it may, law enforcement authorities will descend on both if they incite or lead any such imaginary protest. Let them be warned that lawlessness will never be countenanced under the New Dispensation. Moreover, for previous offenders, they will be denied bail as multiple offenders. There is no martyrdom in criminality, just a price!
