Chicken Inn came out guns blazing, smashing 3 goals without a reply as they played against hosts ZPC Kariba at the giant National Sports stadium (NSS) in Harare.

The game cocks as Chicken Inn are affectionately known by its legion of fans was in no nonsense mood as they dispatched ZPC Kariba.

Last week the Gamecocks beat log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars 2-0 at Luveve Stadium.

The game started 10 minutes late after Bernard Donovan, Chicken Inn goalkeeper was told to change his Jersey by the match officials.

The game started at a cracking pace. It was Malvin Hwata’s goal that put the 2015 league winners ahead as he scored what looked as the fastest goal of the season so far. He scored in the 4th minute of play.

He made use of a rebound after Brian Muza’s shot was punched by Zpc goalkeeper and the ball fell into his path and headed it home. The hosts tried to come back into the game but found Donovan at his best.

Muza was having a good day in office and provided an assist to Tafadzwa Kutinyu with only four minutes to go until half time. That second goal put confidence into the visitors who started to enjoy the game.

It’s only that luck was not on the visitor’s side. Otherwise they played very well especially the first half but they were let down by their front men. They were taking turns to miss after creating good chances.

Chicken Inn made a good build up from their first half performance that resulted in Genius Mutungamiri putting the final nail into the host’s coffin.

Genius had come in as a second half substitute.

Newsome Mutema the Zpc gaffer blamed fatigue.

He said since his team is always playing away from home due to Nyamhunga stadium’s ban they are now forced to use NSS as their home ground. As such they are forced to travel week in week out. The players will be tired after travelling all the way that caused the team to lapse in the second half.

His opposite number, Prince Matore was left a happy man after collecting his second full set of maximum points yesterday.

He said his players applied themselves well, especially in the second half.

He also admitted that the hosts had given them a run for their money in the first half and he thanked the boys for scoring an early goal.

He alluded to the fact that it is their aim to make sure they score first to unsettle the opponents and make sure they collect maximum points and be among the top.

Overall, the game was exciting.
