President Mnangagwa attends debt clearance forum

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is attending a high-level forum on Zimbabwe’s external debt clearance and resolution.

President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Akinwumi Adesina, who was appointed to lead the process is attending the forum alongside high-level facilitator and former Mozambican President His Excellency Joachim Chissano.

Development partners are also among the stakeholders in attendance.

Finance and Economic Development Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube says Zimbabwe’s debt overhang has been an impediment to the country’s economic growth hence the setting up of the debt resolution process.

He said significant progress has been made with development partners since the establishment of the forum.
